I built this piece from some old pine floor boards that I salvaged from my attic. They are close to 100 years old. It was a joy to work with such nice pine. The stuff you buy now can not come close to this wood. The smell in the shop was amazing while I was working with this wood. Because of the wood and the 'built-in' character, I have created an instant antique. This piece was stained to match the woodwork in our house and has a topcoat of waterbased poly.
